The rough world of the Vikings
Today, when we think about Vikings, many of course will think of sailors with no fear of violence. However, the Vikings were much more than this: in addition to their raids, they were engaged in various commercial ventures and built up a large trade network which is said to have reached to the Orient. Women also played an important role and supported their men in battle or kept things orderly at home whilst the men were at sea.
A popular form of punishment were cages in which guilty parties were locked for a certain period of time. In Rangnakor too, apparently such cages could be found dangling high above the surf of the sea.
